Information for Students

Academic Advising:
I expect my advisees to meet with me on a regular basis to inform me of their plans and progress in the program and on the Integrative Project (IP). See M.A. Program Requirements.

You should meet with me at least twice per semester (you are also welcome to stop by more often). I also ask that my students take at least one class with me while at TC, so that I can get to know you and your academic work.

Letters of Recommendation:
I am happy to provide letters of recommendation for my students. I ask that you give me at least two weeks notice and provide me with the details of the job/fellowship, where to send the letter, and bullet points of key things you want me to emphasize. Please note that you must have taken a class with me (and received a good grade) in order for me to write you a strong letter. Also, as a policy, I will only write letters for doctoral programs if you have taken at least two classes with me (or worked with me as a research assistant).
