My research in Rwanda investigates how the schooling system has been used in post-conflict Rwanda to foster reconciliation and a new civic identity. I analyze national policy documents, curricula, and textbooks, as well as survey and interview data from students and teachers. My findings point to the challenges in relying on the education system to promote peacebuilding in post conflict contexts.
